Two futures: aller + verb, and the futur simple
What you are going to do, and what you will do
The easy future is aller + infinitive: je vais manger (I am going to eat). It is used all the time in speech for plans and things about to happen.
The futur simple is one word. For most verbs, take the whole infinitive and add the avoir-like endings: -ai, -as, -a, -ons, -ez, -ont. Parler → je parlerai, tu parleras, il parlera, nous parlerons, vous parlerez, ils parleront. For -re verbs, drop the final e first: vendre → je vendrai. A handful are irregular in the stem only: être → ser-, avoir → aur-, aller → ir-, faire → fer-, venir → viendr-, pouvoir → pourr-, voir → verr-.
Examples
Every futur simple form has an r sound right before the ending: parler-ai, vendr-ai, ser-ai, aur-ai. No r, no future.
